How to Copy Magnet Links on iPhone (iOS & Safari)
Updated November 2025
iOS doesn't support magnet:// links natively, so Safari (and most apps) won't show Copy.
Quick fix: install Magnet Linker. After install, tapping any magnet link opens Magnet Linker and copies the full link to your clipboard automatically.
That's the whole workflow.
The fastest way (3 steps)
- Install Magnet Linker from the App Store.
- Tap a magnet link in Safari, Chrome, Reddit, Telegram, etc.
- Magnet Linker opens and copies it. Paste it wherever you need.
No setup. No configuration.
Why iOS needs an app for this
iOS shows copy/preview actions only for URL schemes it understands. magnet:// isn't one of them, so Safari can't show the usual long-press menu.
Magnet Linker fixes this—giving iOS somewhere to send the link, then copying it for you.
What are magnet links? (quick refresher)
They're metadata URLs used by P2P clients (magnet:?xt=urn:btih:…). They describe content so a client can find it on the network. Desktop handles this; iOS doesn't—hence this app.
Extra features in Magnet Linker
- Full History (Pro): see previously copied links.
- Automations (Pro): auto-open a website/Shortcut/app after copying (e.g. put.io).
- On-device: history is local. No account.
- Native feel: fast, lightweight, dark mode. One-time purchase for Pro.
- Important: Magnet Linker does not download files.
FAQ
Why can't I copy magnet links in Safari?
magnet:// isn't a supported scheme in iOS, so Safari can't show the copy action.
Does Magnet Linker download torrents?
No. iOS doesn't allow torrent clients. Magnet Linker only handles and copies links (and can run automations).
Is the app free?
Yes, with ads. Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks full history and removes ads.
Will it work in other apps besides Safari?
Yes—any app that opens a magnet:// link (Chrome, Telegram, Reddit, etc.).
